This 3rd Release of TIFA’s Round Three survey of Nairobi’s low-income earners shares their perspectives on their awareness and understanding of the virus, including the personal measures they have adopted to prevent infection and their expectations of its future course, particularly in their own neighborhoods.
The key highlights are findings;
- The level of worry about contracting the virus declined from 71% to 40%
- Those who feel that that the worst has passed in the country increased from 39% to 65%
- Unwilling to be tested for Covid-19 increased from 10% to 15%
- Top 2 reasons for not wanting to test;- fear of the pain and discomfort from the procedure (36%) and do not believe that the virus exists (14%)
The survey findings are an indication of where Kenyans were before the current spike in Covid-positive cases (as reported by the Ministry of Health)
